the game just seems to quit after robin has his pity party in the beginning, im using dos box on win XP

Ah I've got the same problem as well. I think it has something to do with the latest version of DOSBOX , cos all these guys who posted previously probably played the game on the previous version of DOSBOX. Or maybe I'm just being neurotic here....

No, you are not neurotic, some games have some problems with the new DOsbox, to play this game, used the oldest version of Dosbox.

Not oldest. Just the next newest version before the current one, so in this case you might want to try 0.63 or (if that won't work) 0.61.
