There were two versions of Dracula X. One was Dracula X Rondo Of Blood, released in Japan only, this was the amazing game that everyone was raving about. The other game was Dracula X, period, released for the SNES, it was a different game, and it was, quite frankly, stupid.

![]() To me the controls were easy, the game graphics - superb and the music... just... just soooooooo Castlevania (GREAT). I've always loved Castlevania. Those were the w4r3z days.

![]() The controls were great on the SNES.
In accordance with the controller. Yes, I agree with Troop, the music was fine. It wasn't a bad game, but I didn't understand why they couldn't have just brought the original Dracula X Rondo of Blood over. Despite its quality, Rondo of Blood is several times better than Dracula X.

![]() I've tried playing these on the JNES and Nesticle emulators, and those were playable and even beatable. I've used ZNES and snes95 for castlevania 4, but it's impossible to play with a keyboard. I have also tried it with a logitech dual action rumble pad controller (strongly resembles a PS2 controller), but the feel in the movement just isn't quite there. Does anyone know of a way to hone this or correct it so that it'd feel more like an SNES controller? I really loved playing Castlevania 4 the most, so it'd be nice to do it again.

![]() Logitech dual action rumble pad is very simillar to SNES controller. I own one, and I have no problems to play any of the games.
Only one that I completed are: Castlevania (NES) Castlevania 64 (N64) Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (GBA) Fav one is GBA version. |

![]() using either the analog controller or the d pad, the movement -in-air- is what I'm meaning. With the old snes, you could jump and move a decent amount in the air to correct yourself. This is impossible with the emulator as far as I can tell. I mainly notice it in games like super metroid and castlevania.

![]() Rondo of Blood is my holy grail.
Edit: I beat all the GBA Castlevanias, Symphony of the Night and Simon's Quest, but I can't bring myself to finish the other two NES Castlevanias (the controls are awful) and all the CV's for the Snes are pretty cruddy. |
