I saw CDroms with sounds effects which was sold by the PC stores... i think that they usesimilar sets of sounds, obviously more professional ones!

Hmm I noticed that police/fire department sounds always sound the same (dispatcher sounds not sirenes), in Simcity 3000 and many movies...

ppl, thats becouse game studios dont "make" all of their sounds usually but buy it from studios which have plenty of libraries, or order new sounds to make.
in some sound files are even written copyrights.(or you can see it in credits etc)
