Hmmm. A paper aeroplane and a flying squirrel?
In the incident to which you refer, it was conclusively determined, through use of gun-camera footage and eyewitness testimony, that the paper airplane stalled and crashed without ever having been engaged by the squirrel. Thus, the squirrel was not awarded a kill. The probable cause of the crash was listed as "Lt. Henson throws like a girl," a claim Henson vehemently denied until his death in 1982.

The plane was a total loss, as the incident report shows:

Quote:
[The plane] impacted roughly in the center of a puddle of water about eight feet in diameter, where it sat half-submerged.* The puddle looked to be two or three inches deep at the site of the crash and was extremely muddy.* As every man in the squadron was in his dress uniform for the upcoming inspection, no immediate salvage attempt was made.* Following the inspection, Pfc. Lewis attempted to recover the craft using a stick but only succeeded in inflicting further damage upon it.
Two days later, the Officer of the Day noted this in his log:

Quote:
Recovered one paper airplane from puddle near officers' mess.* Aircraft not serviceable.* Scrapped.
In other words, you're still wrong. :bleh:

OK so I was wrong on the paper plane, but the squirrel was correct, right?

Nope, 'fraid not.
OK, think slower than your typical fighter, but faster than your typical squirrel.

Then post the answer! Looking it up is permitted, as far as I'm concerned.

Was one of them a Heinkel? It was obviously a fight between a German aircraft and some other. Can you tell which nationality the other aircraft was?

I thought I already said one was German and the other American, but maybe I forgot that bit. Oh, and no, neither aircraft was manufactured by Heinkel. I could name the manufacturers of both aircraft, but I'm afraid that would give it away. Maybe later...
