Well, yeah, it is a really weird, strange and bad name, but come on, it won't make the console itself worse.

And remember, most were freaked by the controllers first, too, maybe we'll get used to the name

And I still think it's a joke from Nintendo. I mean, with giving the console a name that stupid, they can be sure everybody makes fun about it. And when everyone makes fun about it, they can be sure everyone knows about the console. They got a lot of free advertisment by calling their console Wii.
