I've got some problems with King's Quest too. Both 5 and 6. The problem is with the sound. The music plays normally, but there are no voices. And when I first played King's Quest 6, the old man who sells lamps used to say - with voice - "Old lamps for new!". Am I wrong about this?

I'm pretty sure that in these (smaller) file size version of Kings Quest that all the digital speech files have been removed. But there should be speech captions so you can read the dialogue. You might need to go into the options or setup to enable them if they're not automatically working.

so i guess no one has come up with a solution to this?
