I have so far downloaded 'Pirates Gold' and 'Ports of Call' and can't get the games started. For Pirates it keeps asking me to insert a disk, and Ports of Call I can't seem to get started at all. Please help!

OK, what excutable file did you execute?
Did you run these games in DosBox, with VDMSound or in your Windows promt? What Windows do you use. You need to describe more closely what you have done.  k:

OK, I'm computer illiterate. I tried to open Pirates by clicking 'install.exe'. I have Windows XP. How do I run the game using DOSbox?

Mh, OK.
You don't need to click on install. The game runs the way you downloaded it. So the correct excutable is piratesg.exe But it's unlikely that it'll run under XP correctly. Click here to download DosBox. After you have installed it click here to read how to use DosBox. Hope I could help you out! k:
