To level up, I would stay in an easy act that gives quite a lot of xp, like Act 3 for example. You don't really want to put yourself in too much danger, because it's a total pain in the arse when you die if you're trying to level up.

By the way, I have a question to any good players out there - is level 21 a bit low to be fighting Mephisto with?

Because I panned Duriel (not least thanks to my equipment, which was a long sword with 3 Topaz gems in) at level 19, although he didn't drop anything (although that's nothing to do with my level, and might even be normal, I suppose).

Level 24 is about when most people leave act 3.
Here's a table of the acts and when most people leave them.

Act 1 - level 14
Act 2 - level 21
Act 3 - level 24
Act 4 - level 27

That was earlier when people played D2 through yet. Now most people get rushed, then level in act 1 and 2-3 to level 20, then do ancients and then do cowruns with a high-level char killing until they're level 25, after which they do baalruns up to level 50.

That's impossible, unless it's on Open Battlenet, and Open is a disgrace, there's no way you can reach level 80 in twenty four hours.

yes there is i did it with my pally at 10 PM i was level 83 now he's 90 but i gave my account to a beginner...my enigma is doomed :S
