On another note - which gems are the best to stick in weapons and which are best in armor (helms, shields, armor). Also, what is the highest socket number you can stick in an item?
I would like to purchase some high quality gems too.

But I'm only going to do it to get you past Act 4, and maybe nudge you through Act 5. I'll make a Paladin or something.

don't socket with gems...try and find some runes and make some runewords . but if you really want to socket gems maybe you should use some perfect diamonds for your resists and idk...some skulls for lsph and msph?

His level is far too low to start making runewords, he should just focus on finding good gems and items that beef up his mana regen and life regen, try to get some armor (helms, chest armor) and fill them up with perfect skulls.

Diamonds won't work well, they're useless in 1.11, but since all the enemies in Act 4 are mostly elemental, it may be your only choice, just don't expect to be using that shield in Act 5 (you have Lord of Destruction right?) because diamond filled items are about as useless in that act as anything.
What I usually do with helms and shields is pump them with gems I see fit that I need at that time. I call them my "expendable" armor, unless I find something really good, I just keep helms and shields to up my resistences and etc. they aren't very useful articles of armor anyway, since they don't add that much to your armor rating and later on the block for the shield is completely useless.

You're in Act 4, so if you can't find perfect diamonds, fill your shield with topazes, saphires, and rubies, the three main attacks they use in Act 4 are lighting (this is Diablo's primary element) cold (Diablo uses it to some extent, and most of the mage knights too) and fire (surprisingly, Diablo uses very little of this, but most of the monsters in Act 4 use alot).

Firstly, it's a little early for me to talk about runewords, let alone Act5, cause I don't have LoD.
Second, I already found a double socket boneshield and filled it with a flawless diamond and amethyst, I found a double socket helm and filled it with a flawless skull and amethyst.
I am using a Loath Thirst Blade unique 46-65 damage. My resistances are: F38; C42; L46; P32;
I have mana regenerating like crazy and health restoring quite nicely.

I am surprised at how you can develop a char like mine without any hacks in a short time (unless you play nonstop for hours). I just don't understand how you play RPG's, people.

Anyway, I waited long for a single trade, but, since noone showed up, I just used up lots of good gems.
Oh well - only less than 300000 exp to next lvl.

P.S. What the hell is exp for a level 90 to 91? 300 billion points??? I don't get it how anyone could get to levels 60, let alone 99.

Yeah, it's alot, but monsters later on give you loads of EXP in Hell difficulty.

And I have LoD, I can't imagine myself going back to ordinary D2, buy LoD and then you can meet up with my character, otherwise the game won't let us play.

EDIT: Your character isn't the best I've seen, if you can't beat Diablo by yourself :P
I have one Paladin, level 31, that does 450-1300 damage with Holy Freeze enabled at all times, Holy Freeze damaging aura does about 34-56, and Zeal, and I can put Zeal as my primary attack because he has a 50% mana leech, which makes him a death dealer.

I don't have an original LoD, so no go. I can only just slowly build exp now and hope that the spear will come in handy. BTW, original D2 is more hardcore than LoD. There you have much more money, more sockets, weapons do more damage and stuff like that, so I think it's kinda sissy to say that my char ain't standin' a chance - I mean it's D himself (although, if there were normal saves, I would've kicked his a55 a long time ago).

I just thought that I would've unlocked all of the skills by atleast 1 point in each near the end of the game, but now that is just a spike in my pants. Grrrr... I could use an earlier save for sh1t like this, but I would be bored going through the same levels again, maybe I have one here, but I've found some good stuff since then so - I don't think so.

I don't know if it would kill you to use D2 instead of LoD to meet me online, though...

I have LoD installed on my PC, I can't roll back the changes, and I'm not uninstalling it.

Ordinary Diablo is hardly more hardcore than LoD, LoD has a ton of skills people use to glide through the game tuned down, like the Barbarian's stupid Whirlwind.

I'm now thinking of getting back out to reclaim my corpse at the Chaos Sanctuary, cause one of the mini bosses killed me. Only 50K till next lvl, but I've gone through all of that sh1t almost onto Diablo (all seals are open). I don't think I'll go back cause the friggin' damage is tremendous. Those demons are all fast fire-breathing m0th3r*meep*3r5. I don't know if I could stand that anymore.

P.S. Why didn't those idiots in Blizzard make a normal friggin' saving option??? I have to go through all that again if it doesn't work out in the first place. :wallbash:

You don't have to go through all of it, what's done is already done, unless you save and exit, but then your corpse just reappears in town.
