He hasn't asked for any money yet and it doesn't sound as if he's setting you up to take money so go with it and just be careful, maybe the newspaper was mistaken.

its not my grandfather he is talking about.
its his grandfather he's talking about.

Anyway my dad has been in contact with this guy for years on a friendly information-exchanging base (trying to figure out how they are infact related by slowly piecing together the puzzle)
He has never asked for money and all the information provided seems to be correct (we even checked an old Polish phonebook from before the war)

So can we please drop the entire hoax idea... yeesh
you know I'm not an easy to fool person, i'm too cynical k:

anyway, what do I say?
The only thing I can imagine is that he's the guy's son trying to continue his father's work of piecing together the puzzle.
Due to the war a lot of documents have been lost and thus its very difficult to reestablish family connections.

Maybe because you are too busy watching your smileys rip out their hair to make a good plan.
Or because you're too busy making me spam.
Stop it! You can't make me spam again! OH NO! I'm still spaming! How do I stop this fiend!
Be sure to post and let us know what happens once you've contacted Gramps the Vamp, Stroggy.

The Bryce Nook 04-19-2003

Welcome to the Bryce Nook where you can learn what's happening in our Bryce Community.

Another two weeks have passed us by in a rush of spring flowering bushes.

Soon, soft breezes will be fluttering curtains and bees will be softly droning in the flower patches.

We have a spring birthday in the Bryce Gallery. Happy Birthday wishes go out to Michael Zymler aka Expontenator!!!

Michael’s birthday is April 19 and he will be turning 15! Congratulations Michael!

Well, this is what I found. At first I thought it was you Stroggy, but the years don't add up (your profile says you were born 1987, but this guy turned 15 in 2003 - so he'd have to be born in 1988).
So was there a mistake, or is there really another Michael Zymler just a year younger then you?
Other than that I found no refrence to a Michael Zymler. Where did you find your info. I'd like to se the newspaper article.
Been a long time since I went on a wild goose chase, but look at my avatar - this is sort of my theritory.
If you want an opinion I'll need more info!

Well I explained to the guy that I am actually the son of somebody he had already contacted.
he just sent me an email saying "you're right! thanks"
Still doesn't explain the entire obituary and all

oh and about what you found, that was a mistake.
My site profile stated 1987, but the person who wrote the birthdaywishes, for whatever reason, read it as 1988.
Not such a big error in a community with over 10000 members.

I decided not to mention it.
perhaps on info about the other guy, his name is Simler.
But his grandfather was Jakob Michael Zymler (or just Jakov Zymler)
