:wallbash:
What do you think the "compatibility" info box in the review is about?

No, Flashback is not compatible with Windows XP. But it runs flawlessly through DosBox. So check out DosBox and run the game in it. k:

Never really finished the game back in days when it first came out but I've downloaded the cd version and it seems to be pretty much the same accept that the movies have been updated.

They glitch a little bit too under dosbox and when I try it under vdmsound I get music but no sound, strange eh?

I think the old version is the best download... as it will take seconds and the vector movies will run better than the cd version.

I must admit though that I understood more of the story through the cd enhanced movies than through the old version... especially when you meet up with your friend Ian and he mind zaps you, it explains it in alot more detail.

Damn this turned out to be more of a review than anything else

The movies don't glitch under DosBox... just get into dosbox.conf and switch the Output to Overlay or DDraw.

I noticed something and I have to report a problem:

When I play FBCD in DosBox fullscreen my TFT says that the video frequence is too high. How comes that?!
If I play it in a window it works fine. And I had to switch to ddraw-output as well.
@ horseman: Is there a general recommendation for an output setting?

By playing it in a window I noticed that the working/displayed program is changing when the game switches to video mode.

Yup. My personal preference goes for Overlay, as it both seems to work slightly faster then Surface and retains the normal quality of graphics.
Ddraw might work a tad faster then Overlay, and it also slightly blurs the image (in a way that could be considered an improvement with low-res graphics).
Personally, I'm not a fan of that effect, but some people might like it (you know, those who always must employ scalers etc to have their games look as good as possible).

Weird. Post your Dosbox.conf, please.
