Yes the game crashes, it was crashing on me long before this download appeared, I guess it is just a problem with the game.
Because the game has autosave, quit it after some time, it is the only way to be sure that you will have a save.

Found that out the hard way. Won all four sinle races to earn a new car and was halfway through the first bronze circuit when the game crashed. Fired it up again and found I had to start from scratch. Glad to hear it at least saves if you exit the game properly. Glad... because this game is every bit as good as Piggy says. Thanks!!!
