yes it is.
I am not supporting it but it will make easier any battle if you can fire your heavy artillery to unspotted units.

I'm not saying doing it my way is the 'better' way.

Cheap trick 2:

Hardy really is. Miss Newland always manages to find her way back to base, after every mission, where other DoLLS must wait a turn. If you ever need a sacrifical lamb, there she is.

This last isnt very usefull. Mainly coz Newland is one of best mechpilots so she will carry best equipment and you will lost it for next mission. Better weapons take some time(2-3 missions) to got a good stock. Also, it never happens that you find a situation where a sacrifice can save the mission. Only in the mission of the Lt, but most of time, i got 80% of the squad lost and fail the mission or i do it with 1-2 max.

Alright, so we've got

Game Aid 1: pre-plot artillery, useful to some degree.

Game Aid 2: Hardy Newland - disposable hero - somewhat useful, if you don't give her the better equipment to take advantage of her skills.

What else and Fifth, have you finished that walkthrough yet or is real life kicking your behind as much as its kicking mine?

My way of doing it for mission 2, I call it Sniper's Kingdom.

The bottom line: Get the enemy spotted using a hidden PLD/R, then waste em with your Precision Arsenal from other PLDs. In my personal opinion, 105mm CAN is the weapon of choice. ASRs are also a good choice. Keep in mind that attacking will reveal your position, thus your PLD/R should not attack even when in range. Keep it hidden and the enemy won't know what hit em.

Pretty much agree on that. 105 mm cannons the most powerful line-of-sight weapons around. That, however, does not make them the only choice.

In fact, you'll do best to vary your armament - in this mission taking a 105 mm on every DOLL that can carry it is a good idea, sure, but then you should complement that with D1 weapons (SMGs and GGUNs) for reaction fire and indirect-fire weaponry (DRU 25's and RCT-something) to deal with the enemies going through the forests.

The PLD/R's should not be equipped with any offensive weapons but pack two sensor packs each to improve their scouting capabbilities. I'm talking plural because you should take one PLD/R on each side of the river.

Bah, as soon as the attachment function is enabled in this forum (and it's going to happen tomorrow or in next few days) I'll upload the WIP version of my strategy guide, as it stands now.

This are good news, the attachment function, not the guide. :bleh:
No, i am looking foward it. Some other forgoten weapon, the rifle, it pays for the ammo and the range.
