1. combat. in U7 it often happened that you hit C and suddenly all of your party members were running out of the screen and started fighting some evil enemies. you had almost no control over them and thus you were often running after them and hoping that they (or should a say spark) wont die until you arrived at the scene. 2. dungeons. in U6 you could crawl deeper and deeper in those huge dungeons. U7 was technically plain and all dungeons were inside the mountains. their complexity was pretty simple compared to U6 3. magic. although you had almost the same spells i rarely used any magic in U7. probably because of the hectic combat system. |

![]() Pardon? This isn't a paysite.
Maybe you have confused donations with something different. It is not neccesary to make a donation in order to access anyu materials on Abandonia. Let's see where we are... downloaded the game, unzipped, can't run it. OK. Look for files with EXE and COM extensions. Try running them. |

![]() This is a great game. I have tried out the Amiga version of the game as well. The music for Amiga is definitely better than the PC but the major drawback for Amiga is that, its freaking slow. I mean it can take 3 mins just to chat to someone and much much longer to walk down a hallway. How is it even playable?

![]() Maybe you messed something up in the emulator, assuming you ran the game in it and not on the original Amiga computer. Though I remember that U6 was also terribly slow on PC when I selected the EGA (16 colors) display instead of VGA / MCGA (256 colors), the "mergence" of pixels to a single complete image in the intro sequence always took 1-2 minutes to complete.

![]() I dunno. I think I've set the WinUAE the best I can. I can't figure out how to use the disk swapper though. Anyway, I am so happy that I am finally back to where I last stop at Doom in Ultima V. I guess I can see the ending afterall. It had been my childhood dream ever since my Amiga-500 screwed up and my dad won't buy me a new one. I was 13 then. I only manage to buy myself a PC when I was in college. I remember buying the Ultima Collection immediately after on eBay to resume my U5 but was so pissed cause I can't get the feel that I remember. Its way too fast and there is no sound. Only recently I heard about the DosBox and WinUAE and right now I'm glad. I've lots of incomplete game and I hope to play those all back. Its because I have put a lot of effort on it. You know, those days a complete walkthrough on an Internet world wide web is unheard of.
I dunno if I want to resume Ultima IV or not cause I was pretty close and the combat only can shoot straight! I remember I got everything except Mondain's something and the Mystic Armor because I wasn't an 8part avatar. I wasted a lot of time in getting Avatarhood cause I fail to realize that I have been cheating the reagents merchant every freaking time. I bought 99 reagents with 1 gold. >.< |

![]() Oh man, I love this game. I'm playing it now for the first time and enjoying every moment of it (even with dated graphics!). I've played U4, U5, and U9. Thanks abandonia, now I can finally manage to catch up the ones that I've missed from U6 to U8. Though I'm a little suprised that U6 world isn't round anymore like U4 and U5 like I remembered.
I like the battle system in U6, its easier, more convenient and less of a hassle. No more needing to control other party members for minor fights. We also get to see every party members even in non-combat mode and having combat on the main screen which is really cool. I was wondering if current RPGs have their party system for adventuring/combat based on U6? |

![]() There were alot of comments about alot of bugs when this game was released, particularly a nasty inventory bug. IS this version a relatively bug free vesion of the game?

![]() At the moment I've not noticed any bug. However, the encumbrance factor on each character needs a little to get used too. The thing that I do not like is even gold coins, torches and arrows are counted up as a weight item and it isn't minor mind you. You will even have difficulty carrying a quiver of 99 arrows if your strength is not good enough.

![]() The only bug I ever found was with the sound drivers, although with Dosbox that has never really shown up.
