Detailed information about the Mark II:

The naming of things by "Mark" is a sort of tradition. The Mark I is the precursor ship that you flew in the first game. The Mark I is actually a precursor tug, a service ship, nothing fancy.

The Mark II was planned for the secuel which never happend. (As has been established, Star Control 3 is non-canoical and generally evil.) The Mark II, however, was to be a precursor battle ship. Just imagine.

yeah i imagine. but  just what are sa-matra (at least that's how ur-quan call it)? mark 7? or 6? and now that i'm thinking about precursors, i imagine utwig super bomb must be precursor nuke right? or maybe it's just a bomb to destroy planets, so they could take minerals that was inside planets? Anyway only paul and fred (reiche and ford) knows everything. man do i hate starcon company (accolade if i'm correct).

I found it, there 2 dialogues where the Thraddash told you about their Mark VI blaster (it looks more like topedoes than like a blaster).

I rule... well in fact i worked all Thraddash dialogues into spanish.
