A torrent would be a good idea to preserve this old classic !!![/b]
Since this game is Abandoned, this means an ISO may be placed in the ISO forum. However, that part of the site is accessible only to registered users (and then there is a small postquota requirement).

No torrents, though.

Hi all. I've been looking all over the web for this for several years (since 2000 when I lost my WoX CDs) and I can't believe that I've finally found a download for it! Thanks folks.

Just wondering though, how do I get the game to run in an OS like Win95? I remember in the past I had to reboot in DOS mode and enter a lot of commands, but I can't remember them at all. Some help would really be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Xeenslayer (yes, that's my alias on the net which I've been using since 2001)

If you reboot into DOS mode to play the game, you really only need two commands - DIR and CD - the rest just aren't needed for such a limited application.

What OS do you have now? You might be better off using DosBox to run the game.

I had the CD version, but they are lost now . I guess the normal version is better than nothing, but I miss the voices and sounds from the cd-version.

Hi, Fifth_Horseman. I am currently on WinXP. Will DosBox do the trick on it? I had an old Win95 system which ran my WoX CD fine. After I lost the discs, I stopped playing for a long time and totally forgot the DOS commands. When I bought the M&M Millenium Collection a few years ago, I tried to run WoX on both old and new systems, but neither worked.

I've played it on Dosbox 0.63 some time ago, but the sound was a little choppy. I haven't tested on newer versions, maybe its better now, expecially on the upcoming 0.66 (some people say its much faster and stable, I hope so !!!)

BTW, does it wok on VDMSound?

If you've got Windows XP, then DosBox should be just the thing for you. It might seem a little complex at first, but you shouldn't have any problem learning to operate it. You can download the latest version here.

You might want to check out the official DosBox FAQ, and particularly this part of it. It is quite helpful for users unfamiliar with DosBox. I suggest you also read the pages about command line, internal programs (very important!) and the config file.

Norton Commander works nicely in DosBox (you can snatch a copy from our programs page), and there are also a few dedicated frontend programs (though I don't advise using them - they've been known to cause incompatibility with some games).

Anyone know where I can find a download of Might and Magic III - Isles of Terra? Im not having much luck finding it.

Thanks!

+++MERGED+++

When I run the game during the into scene the music is so loud compared to the voices I cant hear the voices enough to understand them. Anyone else have this issue?

+++MERGED+++

I changed the sound settings to sound blaster pro for all sounds and that fixed it.

Still wondering if anyone knows where to find Might and Magic III download. ??

Might & Magic III is abandonware, and an archive has been uploaded to the server a long while ago.
If you want to get it so badly, register on the forum and apply for reviewing it.

So If I register, I can get it from an archive location? I finally registered, but cant activate my acct until I get home. I have used this site alot, and I think I donated to it once, but was just too lazy to register.

Thanks.
