It's a good suggestion. At fist 3XBlah was used for that and people were introducing themselves more... but now even the Welcome smiley is gone...

There used to be threads like "What does your nickname mean" or "Why did you choose that avatar" all of those were helpfull in getting people to know eachother, but older members are less likely to keep posting this if such new threads would apear and the threads themselves haven't been posted in for so long it's hard to find them... I guess a forum with stickies would be perfect for that!

Well actually I misused the word "forum", I meant "thread". A whole forum would be a greater change and admins are less likely to favour it, and actually I deem a single thread preferable myself. Take a look at how it was done in Reloaded. In fact any member could create it in 3xBlah, then the admins could choose to pin it. Also it could make the threads "Real Names" and "Personal Photos" unpinnable --if the admins think so.

But I'm not saying that a whole forum is a bad idea, just that a single thread seems better to me personally.

EDIT: Hey the hypothetical thread's first post could be actualized from time to time to include a link for every introduced member in alphabetical order, because otherwise it could be hard to look for a particular one.

For introductions... possibly. But there could be something like a "Getting to know eachother" forum (or at least a sub-forum of Chaterbox forum) with threads like Real names, Personal photoes, Birthday wishes, Nickname explenations, Avatar explenations...

It would be like moving all the games from the 3xBlah to their own section...

EDIT: About the actualization... Another good idea, but as far as I know the posts have a limit of the number of links they can show, so that might be a problem.

In my opinion it's a brilliant idea.

Altough, maybe, it should rather be a "social" forum, suitable also for the "Goodbye" and "Happy Birthday" thread types?

Social - yeah, that one word could sum it up nicely. I guess posting in that forum shouldn't increase the post count either (like with 3xBlah and Games).
