Hey thanks for putting this one up - I remember it from my Amiga days!

Quick question: I have just made it to level 3, the lake one, but I am stuck on a screen about 8 or so to the right from the first screen. There is a wide jump and one of those floating up'n'down platforms that is held up by a little bug type thing. However, the bug is not moving up n down but instead is stuck up high so I cannot jump onto it to get across. It doesn't move at all. Can't see any other way past so I am wondering if it is actually a bug in the game. There is actually the same thing in the screen just before too but I managed to just make the jump myself, not with this other one though.

I am playing it through dosbox on Win 98.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Why don't the cheats work?

Guys I have no idea where to begin with this stuff. How do I run the game? I tried opening the .exe and got a DOS window, and when I press enter, the game goes black and then caputs.

Help. Please. This game is a childhood favorite.

OK, install DosBox, that's a program that simulates a Dos environment.
Then read the DosBox FAQ to get an idea.

I have gotten the game Flashback to work, with the generous help of the tutorial and FAQ. Now, how do I do the same for Elf?

All I have so far is I've got to the C:\Elf\Elf> Directory. Where do I go from there?

type dir.exe, dir.bat and dir.com. Look for files named "setup", "install" or elf. Run the setup or install to set up the game, then run the game. Running programs is done by typing the name of the exe/bat/com files in question, without the extensions.

It's so freakin' hard, though, and the cheat I remember, it doesn't work. Whenever I type Choropoo in game, it always pauses the game.

Any way to get by that?

I dont get the game working. I can open it with dos box, a screen comes with "elf" and choose sounds, music and apen saved game with f1-f7. After that two screen with highscore and nothing else:confused:

I tried out what was written ahead, but nothing happens.
