Hello everybody!
Wolfenstein 3D was the first ever FPS game. Although so many people ignore it due to its old graphics and DOOM looks better, so they all play that. I like Wolfenstein 3D because I get a thrill running through the corridors, shooting down SS Officers and taking their ammo. I like Wolfenstein 3D because a lot of work went into making it feel real, even without modern day graphics. I like Wolfenstein 3D because I like searching for the secret areas, then finding a huge machine gun and gunning down that guy who killed me last time I played. Wolfenstein 3D deserves to be played because it brought us the thrill of FPS that we experience today. It taught us that gunning down your enemies is better done in a 3D room than on a 2D platform. I cant show some links or some names of games, but there were definitely some games before Wolfenstein 3D. I can remember a game from ID that was made before Wolfenstein 3D... hm... ah, here: There was "Hovertank 3D" and "Catacomb 3D" from ID in 1991.
But im very surprised, Wikipedia can show me some more FPS's - from the year 1984. :blink: But... thats getting off topic.  Wolfenstein 3D was also my first FPS and its just fantastic. The sound of the doors, the soooo smooth turning graphics... just amazing!  |

I totaly agree...
Wolf3d is a fantastic game... 4 mega of fun... I will never forget the time I kill Mecha Hitler without losing a percent of HP. A game for gamers!!! |

well mine was Spear of destiny (same graphics, right?). and the best thing about it was when you turned on cheat mode and then used the slow motion (more newr games should have that). then you went into a room full of soldier and let 'er rip 'em appart.

This was my first FPS as well and it sure brings back memories. Introduced me to the genre and the wonderful early 90s games made my Id Software.

I remember playing this in the dark and jumping at every little sound. Such a great game, some of the music is really good too (for its time at least). I still remember a good majority of the secret areas too. Great game.
