Another problem also about MM4 & MM5 is the shortage of gold during late game. Once you hit Lv 120+, the cost for training becomes incredulously astronomical and unless you cheat, there does not seem to be enough gold to finish training. Or perhaps that's just me :P Does anyone know of any tips to ensure a constant flow of gold?

One of my gold-making schemes is to buy Plate Armours, enchant them and sell 'em back. However, gems are also in limited supply and this process is painstaking at best. I'd be most grateful if anyone could give me some tips and tricks on how to make more money. Thanks [/b]
When I want to get to really high levels, here's how I do it (quoting myself from earlier in this thread). This is the fastest real time way I could find, although it takes a lot of game time:

Interest rates on Xeen are very good. You'll inevitably run out of money for training in the late game- if you kill Barkman, though, that should give you enough gold to train to at least level 50, which can get you through Darkside (particularly the Great Pyramid where there's a huge treasure pile) and then the Dragon Tower where there's a lot more treasure. Then (probably before you go to the Dragon Clouds) just put all of this gold in the bank and go work (Castleview/Rivercity/Vertigo, I think) for the next 25 (or so) years. 25 years multiplies your money by about a factor of 15, and 50 million gold (which you won't have any trouble accumulating with this strategy) is easily enough to train all of your characters to level 120. Aging penalties start around age 35, but don't kick in a second time until about 50, so you'll only have a few stats go down with this strategy.

This sure beats endless trips to the Gemstone Mines, or enchanting and selling items all day! It was particularly amusing that I had so much gold left over that I could pay the 4 million gold in the Southern Sphinx to be protected from the traps and then walk right through them.

If you don't use this trick, the game doesn't take much game time at all to complete (so you can afford to spend a lot of years working to accumulate gold since you really won't age much besides when you use this trick). I think the primary reason people take a lot of game time is that they don't realize that going to shops takes a day and/or they rest when they could just visit fountains (Vertigo/Rivercity being the easiest) to restore sp/hp. If you're judicious about not going to shops often or resting, the game is very quick.

Also, aging penalties at 35 are very mild- something like -2 physical ability scores, +1 mental ability scores. Then you don't suffer any more aging penalties until around age 50. I'd trade -2 physical ability scores for +40 levels of training any day.

pedro- the code sheet you can get in this thread works for everything on the Clouds side (although it may take you a few tries). The only place on Darkside where you need a code (from what I remember) is leaving Castleview through the gate. You can always Town Portal to just outside the city, or go out through the Sewers. I'm pretty sure that the Castleview code check doesn't get activated until you've completed some segment of the game (maybe based on the Clouds side?) so by then you should have Town Portal.

hmm... i thought the game comes with a crack? So far I've been using it... no problems as of yet..

One advice for powergamers:
I found out that if you turn off the PC (or end dosbox) while you're in the inn where you created your characters you keep your freshly created characters.
This way you can split creating your characters over several days without having to leave and reenter the inn which takes a full day time. (doesn't really matter for "normal" players however)

Hi guys quick question:

I've beaten M&M4 and M&M5 back in the past separately. Now I don't know if it's worth it to replay them as World of Xeen.

I NEED TO KNOW how many NEW dungeons are in WoX as opposed to M&M4 and M&M5 separately. I *know* there is The Dragon Tower with new boss - The Dragon King but are there anymore?

Maybe some new overland areas? How about new quests in WoX?

It would be too tedious to replay this mammoth for one new dungeon only although it would be pretty sweet cause I love M&M

Thanks for your replies.

It's not as big as MM4 or MM5, but not very small either.
You can visit all the areas which were unaccessible in your stand-alone games, like the dungeon of death (several big levels), southern sphinx, dragon tower, dark tower some areas in the clouds, ...
You can make the replay more interesting if you use a different style, like a no-reload game.

There's nothing particularly good added, but the Dungeon of Death is a new challenge.
If that's enough for you, go for it k:

This games amazingly huge. You won't need another RPG for a long time after getting this one.

This game is boss. I have been playing this game since it was first released. A great addition and a truely classic RPG. You need to play this game.

Thanks, so it's like 4 new dungeons. Hmm... I think I'll try to beat it afterall. It's been 12 years since I finished M&M4 & M&M5, I don't think I remember much of those two games.

Thanks again.
