Wendy...I went up the tree with what looks like a hole in it on the screen where the three big trees are and was told that it was an old owls nest..I "looked" but found nothing.
I was wondering if the heart icon was to revive Killian a bit more quickly after he has fallen off something. Not of course once he has die......SAL

I managed to revive the fire and light the torch without dying.. To revive the fire it seems you have to stand directly behind the embers aas close as you can get without burning yourself and type in the command "revive" the fire.
When I lit the torch I stood on the R side close to the fire but not in it and typed the command "light torch with fire"

I have got everything except the bearskin and I am ready to go to the next level I have 265 points. When I went up top the bear was still alive and very very hungry so I think I'll wait a BIT BEFORE GOING AGAIN...sal

Did you actually type "revive", or what exactly did you type, Sal??? We could not get the word "revive" to work for us! We use "put wood in fire" or "put wood in embers". (The hints-file also says to use "revive").

Thanks, I had a good chuckle at that, and I am sure others will enjoy that comment too - yes, it is wise to keep away from the bear when he is hungry (standing upright, for those who do not know!).

Wendy..I got the bear skin. Went back up before opening the portcullis and there he was..poor old thing must have died from hunger anyway I have opened the portcullis and killed a dwarf and gotten some gold coins, I am trying to get to the mine but !@#$% dwarves keep getting me killed..I have 345 points after opening the portcullis and 7120 treasure..I feel as though I am 40 points ahead of the table..have I somehow picked up the missing points? When I get time I will go back and double check my games..SAL

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. For the sake of an improved walkthrough, I am trying to make sense of the patterns and quirks in this game. So I will keep asking questions - so please bear with me.

On the subject of bears (pun), where did you find the bearskin this time, please - was it on the stairway to the dolmen again, or where?

The fire command amazed me, but Paco and I tried it but it did not work for us - however, it shows that sometimes the game is very flexible re what commands it will accept at times. (but not flexible iro the command for the crystal ball, hey!).

well. for me it was in the Oak Trees right-down. I think it is different each times where he died.

Hi Wendy & Paco....I found the bear skin in the screen with the beehive on the edge of the pond.
I have found it in several differnt ways so its not always in the same spot all the time.. I am back with witchy and I have 465 points and 8920 treasure... Been flat out with meetings today so haven't had time to play...Regartds SAL

I finished the game again and this time I GOT 705 POINTS 18420 TREASURE AND 31 GOLD which means I am missing 20 game points and 300 treasure points. . Just wherethese could be is a mystery to me.. Appreciate your feedback.....SAL

sorry I know it´s been awhile since I wrote anything in here, but now i have some days off. Unfortunately I haven´t managed to finish the game, tons of work. Everbody at work seems to be sick though. Well I am starting to believe that the elves won´t appear, I guess you would get more points for an spectacular finish. 20 points seem too less to me. Okay, but don´t give up on finding the missing points. Good luck everybody

Thanks a stack for your post about the bear fur. Also thanks for your emailed listing of action-points - it is identical to ours, so we are definitely still missing something for 20 action-points. Also still missing the 300 points as you said too. Well done on trapping the Sarhuls without dropping the ham, which must have been very difficult. That gave you 31 merchandise points compared to our final 29 points (after having dropped the ham), i.e. you retained the 2 points for the ham!

Welcome back. Nice to see your posting. Don't worry about not having time to play or to post, I am also having a time problem lately!!! Also, my game now refuses to load any of my latest saved-games, and I do not have the heart to start all over again. So I am going to nd give the game itself a break now, but I will still see if there is anything happening on the forum. Keep well!!!
