Holding 3 pieces of evidence is not sufficient (parsley plant, empty wine bottle and torn shirt).

You need 2 more:

(1) Talk to plant seller about "parsley". She will tell you that only murderers grow parsley. You need to relate this to the magistrate.

(2) You need a piece of torn fabric (found in Eduard's house) to match the torn shirt. (You have missed this I think)

You are welcomed. Normally, the common stuck-point is the parsley plant. Not everyone will have the initiative to talk to the plant seller about parsley.

Hi Sal, I received your "contact" email and I emailed you this morning confirming my correct email address. Good to hear from you. I have got about a quarter-way (I think) through Veil of Darkness, and figured out the controls so far. I will type it all up and send it to you soon.

Hi JMB. Do you know where Sal and I can get a manual? I can only find one in French - which I can't translate. also, do you know where we can get the prequel-story "The Forge of the Evil Heart" which apparently accompanied the game? I have searched the internet but cant find the manual or the story.

:laugh: Wendy....It is so good to see you back...Had a terrible time with the darned e-mail but evrything OK now...I am up to the bit where I collect the mushroom from the hole and now I am going back to the tavern. So far so good but not quite the challenge of Armaeth!! Thanks JMB I haven't a manual just a fairly basic walkthrough which leaves quite a bit out I think..Sal

Hasn't played this game since i finished it ages ago. Have fond memories of it , i still have the original manual with me.
"The forge of the evil heart" story is inside the manual , the first 30 or so pages of the manual is the story. Heck , i even have the clue book which i bought at that time when i got well and truly stuck and the funny thing , the clue book walkthrough is in a unique form of a story format.
Sorry i can't help you much further than that though.

The manual has both a prologue and epilogue. It is quite a few pages. The PDF file will probably be near 10MB. I will scan it tomorrow (Saturday) and PM both of you then.
