Who can safely say that it doesn't cost more money than what they receive by day only to pay for the bandwith, which must be quite high for a download site like this one?

well the helpful community is nice indeed, but i believe that those money on the page are "measured" based on alexa, google, etc ranks, ads, users, daily traffic, and stuff

I think that figure is potential worth as in if someone would want to buy the site. it does't reflect actual income per month the site may be running at a loss but still be potentially worth a great deal as is the case with lots of major companies.
