i tried that and it still says it wants a cd when i click on the ttconfig icon then run game.and when i click setup it says registry error: cannot inmport ttdx.reg: error opening the file. There may be a disk or file system error

Sounds like you have an incomplete or corrupted archive.
And you still didn't say jack about what operating system are you using, either.

Heed my advice, really. OpenTTD is the same game, only with tons of more features (like bigger maps, larger resolutions, more customization, etc.). It runs natively on modern operating systems, so you don't have to go through any trouble to get it running.

I sound like some sort of door-to-door salesman, but it's really that good. :laugh:

i have tried to iniciate that game, but i didn't... what happened with this download link anyway? i've downloaded it a lot of times but every time it gives me the same answer: that have an error with the disk or the program and can't be started... i think this one is a corrupted file...

* Did you remember to reboot your computer afterwards?

Please remove the (stupid) option in your dearchiver which automaticaly run the setup program, or which try to run any program automaticaly from the archive when you unzip it.

hey hey,

now i have read approximately 300 posts (that is for 4 years posting)

but still i didn't see my questions and answers came along.

i have currently 2 computers where I have tried to play this game on

however, I failed....

the main com is a Xp Home edition and the secondary a Xp Pro edition.

with the main comp the game starts I hear the muzz play but see nothing,
I already read that I could espect that.. so i did not flinch and presd a button
then... the game continus the muzz but the screen disappears, an error appears what tels me: there is an error in the ttdloadw.ovl.

with the secondary comp.... it dosn't do a thing... i see a flash and that is that

i'am getting rather frustrated

i tried the bat fille thingy already... same resuld.

well, do you have the file ttdloadw.ovl in your transport tycoon directory?

Sir Pillas: When you unarchive everything, you will notice that you will have two directories: one in which you have another directory which contain the real game, and some other files (including the RUNME!.reg file which is critical).

What you need to do is unarchive the game where ever you want... But once it is done you need to run the .reg file to add the game to your registery. Once it is done you can't move the game again to another directory or it won't work. This is very important.

Also of note, you need to reboot your computer once before the changes take effect in your registery.

You also need to have the administrator access to the account you are using for those changes to work.

Once it is done, you need to use the patched icon (icon with bandaids), or again the game will not work.
