![]() I've found myself addicted to this game but yea, I've gone through the whole game now.
Thought it would be fun to play against another hume instead of the com all the time, but no way to enable network play? :wondering: |

![]() Hey all, I dunno if anyone has answered this already, i was gona look thru all 300 or so posts but 99% of them were about getting the game to work. So my question is, I know how to put trees etc. into yards.... but how do u take them out again if they complain about them?
Thanx |

![]() It's been a while since I played but from what I remember...
Under the map/TV monitor on your screen, there should be an icon for gadgets. I think it's shaped like a christmas tree, though that might be the factory production screen. Once you've figured out which button to use, click on it to send out a delivery man to place the object. (Pro tip: Put a subway station on each estate, and put one right outside the entry to your gadget factory to speed up delivery.) Some gadets, like PCs and Burglar alarms must be put inside houses. You can either direct tenants to go collect them or, from the gadget factory screen, you can have them delivered to your tenants. To remove gadgets, send a foreman to demolish them. |

![]() For the benefit of (near) future readers, here's the two bits of advice which helped me out.
I ran it with Dosbox (My version is 0.69, I don't know if it's been updated) and I ran it on my Windows XP machine. I don't consider myself any kind of computer wiz, so this should be in the reach of a casual user. Quote:

Even with this, the game crashed when it tried to play the "winning" movie, but from that I remember, it wasn't that interesting anyway. Thanks to the Abandonia folks for having this game around. I've got 3 copies of the game sitting around somewhere (Original shortly after it was released, Bargin Bin Windows 95 version and a PSX version I got as a gift) but I just couldn't get the Win95 version to work on my PC. |

![]() Since you're in the game and fiddling with the options, I assume it's starting up okay and running alright.
Basically, to keep the bandwidth demands down the Opening Sequence, Lose Movie and Win Movie have been cut from the game. You're probably seeing those messages when you either win the game (Based on the win conditions you chose at the start) or you lose. (You can lose by accumulating 100 black marks by failing to address tenant complaints, failing to complete special council missions or from having your homebase destroyed by gangsters.) The game would have ended itself if the win or lose movie played, so you're not missing out on gamplay either way. I think you can find all three movies (intro, win, lose) on YouTube, if you're desperate to see them. |

![]() The videos that show at the start of Constructor, when you lose or when you win.
These were located in a folder called WINDATA in the Constructor game folder (when installed from CD) and on the CD. CONINTRO.AVI CONLOSE.AVI CONWIN.AVI Constructor AVIs |

![]() DATA.FIL file located in FLICS folder on CD and in Constructor game folder when installed from CD.
Extract FLICS folder to Constructor game folder, default: C:/ACCLAIM/CN Contains all the video animations. Includes intro, win and lose videos within DATA.FIL. You can now select Display All Video Animations : YES CONSTRUCTOR FLICS DATA.FIL |
