I just DL'ed Exult and am willing to make sure I know how to use it. U7 is worth it. I would say learning to configure Exult will be more meaningful.
Attempted it in DosBox, allowing the default settings to set up. U7 skipped frames -graphics and sound- so bad, we couldn't understand what was happening ingame. My nine year old daughter, is desperately, wanting to play U7. Can you believe it?! I had to show her how to use DOSbox last night!  EDIT: Okay, I opened Exults .cfg file with PSPad editor and played with the sound and graphics until I liked what I saw. YES! Superb! It Works beautifully!
