Did you try to change the soundsettings by running the install.exe in the xeen directory ? Does it still crash if you select no sound ?

I tried to go to level two of the Southern Sphinx, and even after I cast Divine Intervention, it still told me, "Begone, cursed ones!"
What the hell is going on? ;-;

No. The people aren't cursed, the weapons/armor aren't cursed.. :/ Nothing and no one is cursed.

I'd try leaving the sphinx and returning later to this location without getting cursed.
It's an optional location, you don't miss anything important there important there, just some XP and maybe a few gems, you'll get more than enough of both later in the game.

Oh, trust me, I've tried that constantly.
A while ago, I was cursed, and I clicked the stairs and it said begone. So, I uncursed myself and clicked gain and got the same message. Then I beaconed the spot and went to do other things, and after some time, I came back and then was told the same thing. :/

But oh well. Since you say it's optional, I guess I'll just forget about it.

Excellent game. My favorite Might and Magic game. I never really got into any of them after this one. My favorite part of the game is probably the end video for Darkside of Xeen. I watched it over and over again because I thought it was amazing. I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't played. I think it's one of the top endings I've ever seen for a game though.
