![]() If you find a good one that does ascii to html, will you let me know please, russ?
None of the ones that I've found seem to work very well. Also, if you can find a new generator that is able to convert images and produce good results (preferably one that's free) into text, rather than a jpg or something, so I can edit it in Fireworks, that'd be awesome too! If you can find one that will do it with images that are less than 800x600, that'd be awesomly amazing! I can't find one that will let you do it with images less size than that. The problem is if you blow the image up to be that big, is that it needs a lot of cleaning up afterwards because it's so blocky, or it doesn't use the characters or character set that I've told it use. The generator that you can download off the tools page, from the link a few posts back, only uses a-z and no other characters, which is shit. It can take a while to copy all the characters and their colours (which is what takes the most time - having to rebuild them all) from Fireworks, Imagestyler, Illustrator or Photoshop into Dreamweaver? That's the only way I've found so far that works every time. I was using one on the tools page, the link's in one of the posts above, but 2/3rds of the time, it doesn't work and the picture comes out all screwed up. I'd like to be able to copy every ascii made in Fireworks - so the characters, the position it's in, the colour and any tags (like bold, etc.) - directly into Dreamweaver. If it goes into HTML and is formatted (which is the main part, ensuring that it is all still in the same place), then that's fine. It doesn't have to go straight into Dreamweaver. I can just copy the code and it'd be the same thing... It just needs to have the tables set up correctly and retain all the other formatting and colours and stuff. Thanks! |

![]() Thanks Pex - I was getting the nose all wrong. That's why it looked weird.
It's almost like a beak, isn't it..? How tall can the koala with the sword be? So I know into what size grid I can aim to squeeze it all. Having it symmetrical is good - it makes it easier for me! But, some of the characters like , and / will have substitutions. a J which goes left needs an L to go right... Last edited by Saccade; 20-05-2009 at 02:32 AM. |

![]() What's a Ghostriger..?
I have no idea what one could be / is. A ship? --- Is it a typo for ghost-writer? If so, I think that I've had enough of people spoofing my accounts and trying to get me in shit by mimicking posts on Usenet. But, Usenet is the best place to pick up trolls and get into flamewars with people. Especially as most of the people who post into the ascii newsgroups often cross-post to alt.usenet.kooks, alt.flame.troll, etc... That can be frustrating, as they've never managed to do it 100%. There's always a marker that they leave. One guy, who calls himself me but leaves a marker A Patient and Noiseless Spider is pretty good, but he uses aioe.org, which is sort of like "How to use remailers to hide your identity in Usenet using an online Linux Emulator for Dummies" and leaves a very obvious signature. You don't even need to use aioe.org or any emulator... You can do it to that standard in any text editor or using nslookup in Windows. Anyway, he's the closest to getting it right. For a while, he took up the challenge that I gave him to get it entirely correct - no markers left at all - but gave up and spammed for a week. Now it's just business as usual... Usenet may be a really good resource for anything that you could conceive of transmitting in digital format, but the community isn't great. Finding a group that you get along with and who get along with each other well doesn't happen often. I think that forums like this are much better. Some reason they're just friendlier. I can change it - or you can, if you just substitute the symbols - if you'd like. I think it looks better like this, though... I'll have another go later on in the week if you want a different one.
