Hmm...
Unbreakable space sounds like a good alternative.

Making things using .'s or other 'fillers' tends to always look a bit naff, in my opinion.
If there's no other way, I'll do it like that but the results won't be good (ie, it'll be a really shit picture, rather than a passably shit picture).

I will have a play around with it over the next week, Pex and let you know.
