I have never believed in Anarchy. To me, it's a theoretical idea that has no foundation in reality and which is not compatible with human nature. Self-regulation is never ever going to work - you only need to look at the bank sector which has worked without a true hierarchy to see how they screwed up as a result. I may not know everything about anarchy, but I know enough to know it can't possibly work on a large scale. I haven't read any argument in favour of anarchy that has been able to convince me that the opposite is true.

Protip: If you're Gandhi, you don't suffer from Anarchy if you change your government.

Gandhi was a philosophical Anarchist: ""Political power, in my opinion, can not be our ultimate aim. It is one of the means used by men for their all-around advancement. The power to control national life through national representatives is called political power. Representatives will become unnecessary if the national life becomes so perfect and self-controlled. It will then be a state of enlightened anarchy in which each person will become his own ruler. He will conduct himself in such a way that his behavior will not hamper the well-being of his neighbors. In an ideal State there will be no political institution and therefore no political power. That is why Thoreau has said in his classic statement that that government is the best which governs the least." (Gandhi, January 1939)

Because if you play as Gandhi, you don't get anarchy when you change your government.

Those may be nice thoughts, but I don't see how such a thing is possible this side of Flying Rainbow Unicorn Happyland. There are an awful lot of people out there, and these statements appear to presume that everyone, given the chance, will naturally act in the best interest of everyone else all the time. That's just not how most people behave, though. It seems to me that this could only be made to work within a small, isolated population, and even then, only temporarily.

I still believe in education. (I hope the bad connotation of "education" will fade away.)
