![]() There seem to be different CD version floating around, the one I have doesn't have an ENG folder (stated in the original batch) so the one included on site by Ace works pretty fine with the full version. One thing though, you may encounter that unpretty sound file not found error, for that, you need to expand the registry entry the installer makes. I include mine as attachment, you have to change the paths to your installation directory.

![]() Hi guys
I've read this thread carefully several times but still seems to have trouble installing Warhammer SOTHR full version, despite all the helpfull comments. I DL the full version via the link given in this thread, unpacked the files to warhammer sothr 1996 folder, amongst the unpacked files two image files are given - I've tried to mount both in Daemon tools on different occations and copy paste the content to the warhammer sothr 1996 folder, then I unpacked the whshr.bat given on this site (for the small version) and put it in the game dir and tried to install via bat. The installation begins as it should BUT then every time it says: 634 file(s) copied File *.* was not found. 0 file(s) copied. c:\DOS\CDrive\Warhammer SOTHR 1996\Warhammer SOTHR 1996\WARFB\*.* The named file was not found. 0 file(s) copied. 1 file(s) copied. Above is a translation from danish but should be quite accurate. I know that the folder WARFB is in the the game dir folder - but for some reason the installation program can not find it!! I hope somebody will be able to help cus I would really like to solve this problem and of course be able to play. Thanks regards Red Makak |

If you can get the game to run, and you encounter virtual path not found errors when the battlefield is loading, you should download the registry entry I attached to my post. Then open it with a file editor (notepad for example) and change the path settings to the path you installed your WHSRS to. After that import the registry entry by double clicking on it. This should overwrite the previous one, and theoretically make the virtual path errors go away. I included the file because it has more entries then the registry that the custom installer creates, and it solved the problems in my case

![]() First of all thanks Hunvagy for the quick respons.
But a weird thing happened when I altered the reg file. Next time I entered the game, firstly I noticed when I wanted to start a new campaign no name was suggested (ref. cmdr. Bernhardt). Secondly, when I entered the inventory (the book) all sorts of things were in there and not just the standard sword and potion. Finally, I entered the book where the men are listed and the screen whent black! But nonetheless I reinstalled the game and used your technique on the allready existing reg file and now the sounds seems to work during battle - excellent  For those that might be interested, here is how I made the game work on my PC with help from hunvagy, the fifth horseman and all the commentaries in this thread.. 1) DL full version via link in this thread. 2) Unzip all at the same time to the, by winrar, suggested folder. 3) Mount image with Daemon Tools (or similar program) and select open folder (NOT run warstart.exe). 4) Drag content of image/folder back to folder on pc. 5) Follow this link: http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/showthread.php?t=20976 and do as brilliantly suggested by The Fifth Horseman. Afterwards (if not allready there) drag the whshr.bat file into the game dir. 6) Double click bat file and install (using the guidelines suggested on the main page http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/26...orned+Rat.html). 7) To make sure the sound works during battle sequence open the whshr.reg file in notepad, which is located where you choose to install the game. In notepad make sure the paths (@) leads to where your actual installation is located on your pc. Afterwards doubleclick the reg file and accept. Hope somebody will benefit from my experience and if something is unclear in my explanation please comment. Regards Red Makak |

![]() I must say I haven't had any problems with the subs\ text etc.. But in the full version I DL from the link given in this thread there IS an ENG folder - if I double click the warfb folder there it is.
Furthermore I started of using the bat file available on this site but could not install the game properly untill I used the modification code given by the fifth horseman. So Linbaba I suggest that you open your warfb folder in your game dir and see if the ENG folder is there and if not then according to Hunvagy it seems like you can just DL the small version of the game on this site and use that ENG folder instead which in theory should solve the problem. I hope it will work for you. regards Red Makak |

![]() I'll give it a try and let you know thanks
*edit* Well I'm totally lost on this one, I tried to just use the original non-full version with the standard batch, and its missing the text too. In my full version install (using fith's batch file) I don't have an ENG folder or a warfb folder in the game directory but I do in the image (if that is what you mean)... Each time I install, the .exe already has the 256 colour selected, is there some mistake I have made previously that is staying with me like some kind of registry problem or something?
