Well the dumbest thing I ever did was let rage consume me... allow me to explain.

It was a few years back on a school trip to the south of france. I got very ill at one point and got critical fever (40° celsius)
But for some reason the principal of my school (who came with us) didn't want to call for a doctor.
Now I was totally delirious and didn't even know what day it was.
However one day the principal tells me they told my parents yesterday and they'll be here by tonight to pick me up.
Now at the time I was just too weak to even demand a doctor to come and see me (I barely got out of bed)

So I pack my bag (had to do it alone) get dressed and go downstairs and wait for my parents (it was 8 or 9 in the evening) by midnight they still hadn't arrived so I went to my principal to ask when they would be here.
Then he casually told me my parents weren't coming, that it was a lie to get me out of bed.

Now this really got me into a fit of rage. Without a high fever and a crushing headache I started beating him and managed to break his nose when I pushed him against a radiator. What happened after that is a blur, I think I passed out or something.

Anyway the next day my parents came to get me and then the legal problems came.
They threatened with lawsuits because I had attacked the principal, my parents threatened with a lawsuit since I could have died due to the school's negligence (my parents immediately drove me to a hospital in france where I was thrown into an icecold bath and place on intensive care)

Eventually my parents decide it best to make me change schools.

Now I'm not sure if what I did was dumb because if I hadn't done it who knows what would have happened to me... but it did bring with it many legal problems and acting out of fury is never a wise thing to do.

One pretty stupid thing I did was shouting at a customer at work...
I work at a Subway restaurant, and one night, me and my best friend were working together. It was busy as hell, and we were running out of bread and didn't have time to order more.
So I decided to call another restaurant and ask for bread from them, while my friend was serving the customers. One guy in the line started asking all the time stupid questions... "When will it be my turn?" "Hurry up!! I don't have all night!" "Why aren't there more people working?" and stuff like that. Then he yelled at me: "WHY AREN'T YOU MAKING SANDWHICHES INSTEAD OF HANGING ON THE PHONE?"

I put down the phone, and told him (in quite loud voice) that if he wants his f**king sandwhich, he has to give me time to get the bread.

But what I didn't know, that in the line, was a person working for the office. Few times a month, somebody from the office (we don't know them) goes on the restaurants, and sees how they're doing. And they don't let us know. And this person called my boss, and we got a low grade that month on the service-survey

I used to work in a restaurant and one night things got really busy and I ended up having to serve drinks at tables, which wasn't something I had never done before. It just happened that on that night the man who owned the restaurant had come in for a meal with his wife and his wife's mother.

Unfortunately, as I served their drinks, I unbalanced the tray and spilt a glass of wine (white fortunately) over the wifes mother! Now you can imagine how angry the owner was! He asked why I was serving drinks when it wasn't my job. I told him that if he allowed the manager to employ enough staff it wouldn't be a problem. Then he got really angry!

Anyway, he spoke to the manager and said he wanted me fired! It didn't work. I became a minor hero and stayed for another four months. I was also promoted to barman where I had to serve drinks at tables more often! The owner always used to check my work very carefully when he came in though!

the dumbest thing i've ever done happened back in the days when i was about 8 y
old. i was a pupil in the 3rd grade at primary school. on my way to school i often
encountered three older boys who used to make fun of me and often pushed me
around, annoying me to the worst.

i didn't have the heart to tell my parents or the teachers, because i'd have felt like a
coward then. instead, one day i took a little plastic knife with me in order to scare
off my threateners when they try to mock on me once again.
as they come along i pulled my "weapon" out and told them to leave me alone.
in this very moment my strategy seemed to work fine. they looked kinda pissed,
but turned away and let me pass (obviously not noticing it was a toy that i was
holding against them - or at least they pretended not to notice!).
i was proud to have managed getting myself out of this situation and hoped this
unpleasant fuzz was finally over and done with.

but unfortunately, more problems arouse. about two days after my fierce act of
defense, i was sitting in class while our teacher was doing some math exercises.
suddenly the door opened and the older boys' teache came in. not only him, but
the whole damn class including my three adversaries who has started this conflict
in the first place.

they all looked at me very grimly while their teacher told aloud what has happened.
the problem was, he expressed THEIR version of the incidents which was like i have
threatened them with a REAL knife for no reasons, DENYING to ever have mocked at
me in any way!! then my own classmates turned around and reproachfully looked at
me like i was a criminal. any of my attempts to rectify the plot of happenings were
ignored as lies, needless to say i had no wittnesses to prove my innocence.

i had a discussion with my teacher in his office afterwards, where i fortunately could
convince him of the fact, that what the tree older boys had told on me was not
true. later he told my classmates, because otherwise they would have excluded
me from their community for sure. some believed me, some did not. so i had to
face several months filled with rejection and prejudice.

if i had told anybody about the conflict with the three roughnecks before, things
would probably have not gone that far. this were definitely the dumbest
circumstances i ever caused...

It happened yesterday. Ill try to explain it to you. I left my keys on the inside part of the door. So basicaly you can't do anuthing on the outside side. And since there is only one "door hander"(the part wich u oush down) on the inside I was locked outside. Gladly it was my father who made that.
The funiest thing is that this happens for the second time. First it was my mother and now my father.

And it seems that there is a curse because when my father arrived we went down sairs to repair the door of the cave. When we finished I took the key and went to call the elevator. I don't know how that happened but when the door opened it pushed the key out of my hand. And to be more stupid the key fall into the little hole between the elevator cabine and the floor. Now that's a chance.

@Sebatianos
Wartbourg isn't that bad LOL. Do u remember Trabant. It was our first car LOL

Dumbest thing I did was a bit of a mistake at work.

Cisco switches (and most other managed ones) include something called Spanning Tree Protocol which stops you from accidentally wiring a loop into your network and flooding it with traffic. When you plug something into a port it takes 50 seconds to study the network and work out if it can safely enable the port or not. Because that 50 second delay is annoying sometimes, it's possible to turn STP off. Our main head office switch had it disabled.

Then one day we added a second switch, and so I figured I'd better turn it back on for safety. So at about 10am I went ahead and enabled it. And STP did what it should and disabled every single port for 50 seconds while it checked for loops in the network. I even had users in New Zealand phoning up to ask where their application went.

Well I was very young when I started with dumb things...

At age 3 or 4 I got a KICK kid out of bicycle just so I can drive it. (Parents had to get me bike next day )

I was hit by bicycle at age 5.

At age 6-7 police got me driving car. First I scared the hell out of them, as they saw no driver in the car. Well, I was standing, otherwise I can't see where I was driving if I was sitting.

Faced death couple times during my childhood, one of the times I was driving bicycle from the mountain, on the very dangerous road. When I told my parents recently, they both turned white. (dunno why )

Etc..

Seba,
I had same problem couple times. I learned to keep a spare key at my parent’s house, and how to open damn door without the key. (no, I did not practice that on parking loot )

Others,
LOL LOL LOL

One dumb thing happened when I was young. We climbed on the roofs of the garages in the yard of our big many-family house, and the back of one of the garages went out in the yard of another house, a house owned by a family of yews. As they noticed us (me, 2 boys and a girl), they started to shout at us that we should go off there. But the fact is, the garage belonged more to our yard, so we cared a hell about them shouting at us. They became angry and threated to come overe here and kick our asses (their father, around 30 years old probably). Still we didn't care and remained on the roof. Then he ran over to our yard. We fled over another roof of yet another house of another family of yews. When we came down to earth again, we decided to hide in the cellars (there were cellars going through the entire house, they could be entered at every entrace to the house). Then on of us told us he's coming. So we ran to our homes, as me, too. The thing is, the yew came not after others, but after me. Now as I was home, he ringed at our flat and my dad opened him. The yew (don't know his name) started to shout at my dad, making a scene. What my dad did he freaked out / went berserk, got a hand hammer and went up on the yew. He became afraid and started to run, while my dad followed him pair of steps! :roflol:
At first I was pretty scared and embarassed, but after that, we all laughed heartly at that. LOL

That was not that kind of thing. Yes, it was dumb, but it was more serious to belong to this topic...
