I can get to the title menu, but once I try to start a simulation game after selecting my options, the screen turns black and tells me that the program cannot find file PGNEW.WRL even though it is obviously there in my LION folder and prompts me to a command.

Something similar happens when I try to start a scenario game. The program tells me it cannot find the file USER.DAT. This time, however, I have no such file for real, and I'm still prompted to a command.

I'd be much obliged if someone could help me with my problem. If you think you can help, please, ask questions if I forgot a key point. I'm very eager to play this game, so I will be patient. Thanks so much!

Easy questions first, are you using Dosbox, and what is your mount text? (I.e is Lion inside another folder, is the Lion folder your C:\ while you are in Dosbox?) On another note have you tired to redownload it and see if that fixes the problem?

I am using DOSBox. LION is in a folder that I named OLDGAMES which I put into my C:\.

I have not redownloaded anything. What do you want me to download? The game or DOSBox?

The game, since it claims it is missing files redownloading the game might fix the problem. Also what cycles is Dosbox set on?

I tried redownloading the game, but I got the same results.

Could you tell me where I can find the cycle setting?

PS: I see this in my DOSBox status window: "Warning: file c:\OLDGAMES\LION\PGNEW.WRL exists and fails to open in write mode. Please Remove write-protection"

That sounds like a problem that the program is actually giving feedback on.

The cycles can be seen when Dosbox is in it's windowed mode. It normally only starts at 3000 cycles you will need to increase this for the game to work. (Ctrl F12 increases the cycles) Try running Dosbox as an administrator, and check if that file is write-protected.

My problem seems to be that none of the files allow writing. I'll allow writing for every one. I'll let you know whether it works or not. Thanks for all the help so far!
