Doing what you say loads the AB forum, but not the Shoutbox. And it doesn't solve the problems for other sites that seem to be blocked now.

Don't know how to solve the issue @ hand,
but if you also don't like the idea of having a 3rd browser then perhaps a visit to FF's add-on page might make it more interesting.

It may be due to Avast after all (I'm not saying that's likely or not).

To check this, disable the Avast "web shield" temporarily and see if the problem disappears.

Also, Do you have flash installed? Cause the missing play button and stuff seems weird (then agian if you didn't have flash the video wouldn't work at all
