Sorry guys, but I just don't see where 4 pages of heated discussion over this topic came from !?!

I mean this is still much better than just suspending/banning users from the site for excessive (spl.) spamming, as would have been the case before ???
Now you get a chance to do something about it before it's too late, which I think is fair.

Then again I hardly post 10 posts per week now, so I probably won't be in the danger zone...

I think that every discussion should allow a small of topic discussion, and in some cases I see no reason that some discussion shouldn't become discussion about something else, more interesting. (like here, talking about , while real topic is warn level)

That's why I really want some clear and simple rules to be writen down...

As Data said, the case was made. I didn't wan't to spread hatered with those big red letters, but I really wanted to make that point. After all only one person really knows, why the thread has apeared - and can decide what is and what isn't off topic - and that's the person who started the thread. Actually an admin might be off topic just warning someone to be off topic...

Why did I start writing about this now?

Well because I've been getting some PM's from people that had complains and I felt injustice has been done to them!
And if there is injustice it should be corrected!
Before this system no-one knew they were considered a spamer or not (OK - some people were warned loud and clear,...), it was only an opinion of an admin,...
Now it's something you can see and can disagree to! Because what you one moment consider spam might actaully be a very deep thought you don't understan, a joke you don't get because you only read the last post, politeness,...
So if you have a bad day you'd just call a person a spamer, while on a good day, you'd reply in a same way - keeping the jole alive...

Another thing that will raise your warn level is flaming. What is flaming? Calling people names reacting to a comment with all caps (which is shouting). This will raise your level significantly. Flaming is the biggest nuiscence on the web and more serious then spamming. If you flame you can be assured that we will deal with it severly. Today even I banned a member permanently for flaming (not important who).

Why would you consider writing in caps and changing size SHOUTING?

There are some words that need to be inphesised, so they should be writen differently. Different size, boldnes, change of coulour, captation,... It just means the person writing those words thinks they should draw atention - that's not shouting. It's a way of getting attention focused on something:

meaning: It's not so long ago...

The most importaint fact in this sentance would be, that it was yesterday (everything else is just relevant in conection to that). That's how you make a point (otherwise people might get the idea you're trying to say something else.

btw it is general internet knowledge when a person is writing in all caps he/she is shouting. A single word in caps is emphasis yes but the entire sentance is shouting.
