That's not the one...I remember buying it around 1997 so it was probably 3.1 or maybe 98.

It was a simple game on a cd-rom. Fairly plain cd-cover (with a dinosaur) and the game featured a dinasaur onto whom letters would show. The disc also had a shareware version of a math game.

It doesn't seem like I'll be able to locate the game after all ...I haven't been able to find any complete lists (w/ screenshots) for educational software released during that year.
