THANK YOU SO MUCH. it works now
 what I did was configure dosbox with the following: mount c c:\games imgmount d c:\games\lion\lion.cue -t cdrom d: then typed dir which displayed the files and it did in fact contain setup.exe, so I typed setup.exe and it popped up with the install screen. worked like a charm! Thanks  Edit: Ok, at the end of installation it puts dosbox to c:\games\lion, with a message saying that I should change directory to c:\games\lion from now on. I type lion and the game starts with sound. I close the game and change dosbox to mount c:\games\lion, type lion and the game starts but without sound! What's wrong now? mount c c:\games cd lion lion And maybe also mount your cd image again as D: , not sure, been a long time I tried this one.

Did the setup program ask you for soundcard configuration? What did you enter?
