It's an action title that was marketed as an RPG to double the buying public for the title. It has everything in common with other action titles, and next to nothing in common with RPGs, includling either the BG or Fallout series. If you wish to discuss those points of commonality among 'em and try to make a case for the RPG genre, though, that's fine with me.

I'm surprised on a board like this the RPG titles included some that were so recent (KotoR), and missed some of the most popular in the genre that were older (Ultima VII, Ultima IV, Darklands, Betrayal at Krondor, Magic Candle I, Might & Magic III, etc). Still, for sheer writing and several other factors, I gave it to PS:T. It's in my top 5.

Well there were a couple of people who said they nulled their vote due to bad choices. So If you were to sort out a proper list, you should get more votes.

out of all the option I cohse mario RPG, cause half the games I never played. Mario RPG was a really fun and color full, and graphicly bbetter (at the time) then other rpgs

The story in NWN is one of the richest i ever encountered in any RPG, and i have played many(Dungeon Siege, Throne of Darkness, Diablo, Sacred, Divine Divinity, etc.....).While it's story is very good and grips you right form the start, the gameplay is somewhat clumsy, because of the fighting system, which i agree is dull.But the story is awesome in my opinion.And about the addons, i think they'r good, but don't compare in terms of story with the original(especially the second addon -there are only 2 addons, not 3 :eeeeeh: - which kinda sucks).Besides the storyline, the addons bring new abilities, classes, spells, items, monsters, etc., which is a plus k:

I'd add a vote to do a new vote. Especially on an abandonware site, it makes sense to include abandoned RPG classics. I can't comment on the poll creator's knowledge of earlier games, but the poll itself does give the unfortunate impression of computerized RPGs having started up within the last five years or so.
