ah, this looks promising! (well, to me at least)
"Planet Blupi" http://www.ceebot.com/blupi/planet-e.php I admit, it's not pink, penguins, or snowy....but there are snowy landscapes, and some of the other stuff you mentioned is there. It's alternately listed as releasing in 1997 or 1998, but I wouldn't surprised if there were an earlier European release (or an earlier release of the demo). There's a number of videos on Youtube.
