Well, to start off, let's just say I do like the DOS era of gaming. (Which I assume is what you are talking about since we are on the DOS Abandonware forum, basically.) That's not to say I don't like some newer stuff, (I know, big no-no) though. For this, though, I'll just go over what I like in general, plus an extra few in the "DOS" category. Okay, so to start off, I am a BIG FPS fan. Anything from MoH to DOOM, mostly, I love it. I am NOT into excessive violence, or any sexual content. DOOM however doesn't have the latter, and in my opinion isn't really that realistic (At least the first one or two weren't ) because of it's Sprites for enemies. However, that would mean Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior are unfortunately out of the run for me. I want to like them, but I just don't agree with that type of content. (Since I am a Christian) However, as long as you're not being corrupted or excessively affected by violence, it's just what you are comfortable with, within certain bounds. But enough of my Religious beliefs. You came here to hear about games. So, some of my favorite games would include, not nessecarily in this order: FPS's: Wolfenstein 3D MoH/ Medal of Honor (The first of which was on the PS1) DOOM (1) Star Wars: Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, (Dark Forces II) In DOS: Duke Nukem 1 & 2 Pickle Wars Alien Carnage (Possibly Sequel, Zombie Wars?) I do like "Breach 3" Others: Star Wars: JKII: Jedi Outcast Practically any Star Wars game, many of which I own This old Pokemon Video Game version of the Card game (The first one, not the second) which I believe was only supported on Win 95, possibly 98. I also, believe it or not, like the old DOS game, ParaTrooper. It's a very simple game, but it has that old-school arcade feel. Try to beat my High-score of 594! (Anyone feel to take that up!) So those are some of my favorites. If you want to, give a visit to my Flickr Page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/98439344@N05/ As a last couple of comments... My cat is named Calico, only he's actually a Tabby cat (At the time which I named him, I thought his fur pattern was known as Calico) Also, is your cat really named Mimi? To comment on what you said in your message more personally: I believe that I like the occasional Text-based RPG, MMORPG, (Like SW:TOR, but not WoW) and possibly the 3D RPG KOTR (Although I haven't played KOTR or any Text based RPG to date) I do not, however, like the "Legend of Zelda" style, Top-down, Anime-ish RPGs. Just not into them. I have a tendency to like Arcade style games, and I definitely like most DOOM style games. Even as it may not humiliate me, it just wouldn't make sense to say that I don't like the Mario game series. Everyone likes it. As IGN once said, in paraphrase, "You can't not like it, unless you just dislike fun." However, it isn't my all-time favorite, and it can be infuriating on occasion. (Case and point: Dome levels in Super Mario World) So, anything you have to say in reply?

A lot. First: Yes, my cat name is Mimi. She is lady and wow... she is the same cat named Calico in photo Poser cat. Mama mia! I do not believe my eyes. Absolutely the same cat!! How is possible? USA is at the end of the world (ha ha ha) and this cat - her race name is European cat- reaches this remote region??? I will post my Mimi cat photo. Soon. ...Doom 1 only? What about Doom 2 or 3? Yr opinion? Mine is: Exc. for 2 and Good for 3. .. and last but not least: What do You think about Might of Magic 3, 4,5? I think the best is MM3, then MM4, then MM5. MHO is that the first games of some series are the best. With very few exclusions. This is if i may say as ""the first kiss"" - Never forget!

DOOM 3 I haven't ever played either, and I've heard stories about it not being as good, trying to scare you too much, etc. Also I'm not entirely sure, but it might be a tad to realistically graphic for me... but I can't say until I try it. As a note, however, I AM NOT into the Horror Genre of gaming. In the slightest. It's never really been my thing, and I don't intend to make it my thing. I not the biggest DOOM fan-- just more of a FPS fan in general. In fact, I've only played 1 or 2 levels of the shareware version of DOOM one-- so needless to say, I guess I'm not a definitive source for DOOM info. Quote:

Otherwise, I'm interested to see how similar Mimi does look to Mr. Calico, regardless of wherever you like to post your photos online. Quote:
As for my opinion of them, well... I can't actually tell you since I haven't actually played them. Quote:
I haven't played through a lot of game series through them as a whole, although there are plenty I wouldn't mind doing that with. I have played through a few. I played through Rogue Squadron 3D Rogue Squadron: Rebel Leader (Haven't played Rebel Strike) I played Dark forces (Haven't finished, just played first level) I played some of the demo for Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith I played completely through JKII, Jedi Outcast, Although I'm not completely sure if I used Cheat codes or not. I think I did not-- at least not to complete the game! I used them on other occasions, I assure you. I haven't played JKA Jedi Academy I played very little Tomb Raider one-- part of the shareware I played a level of Tomb Raider: Last Revelation I played SoulCaliber II but I haven't played any of the other ones, just heard about them So from on basis from these series I would say this: So Dark Forces was the most popular of that series, and Tomb Raider I was probably the most popular in that series. SoulCaliber I was the most popular in that series. Well, I personally believe that games get better as they go on. Most anyway. SoulCaliber probably keeps getting better as it goes on. Unless the makers reach a creative stunt, then a game will inevitably get better as time goes on and allows for better graphics etc. However, the reason the first would be most popular, and could be considered the best by some players, would be the revolution of it all, so to speak. For example, when SoulCaliber first came out, it was 3D, it was weapon-based, and it was better in some ways than the arcade version. (From what I've heard) People loved it. It was about as good as Weapon-based 3D Fighting games could get, at the time. It's only natural, by the time the next one came out, everything was different. SoulCaliber II was a GREAT game, (I own the Xbox version) of course. But the look on it was different. The fact that the game before it was very similar takes away from a game's shine. The fact that some people could feel like "Been there, done that" took away from the shine. Several facts took away from the shine of the game... The real amazing thing, however, was that it managed to overcome it all with new developments such as: Better Graphics Better English Dubs Better Story (I think) Better in several other ways So to sum up, so I don't go into a long wall, The first game gets the WOW factor of "This is great, I love this. I've never seen anything quite like this before." The second game tries to, if you'll excuse my rough terminology, "Emulate" that past WOW factor. If they try too hard, they'll fail miserably. They attempt to overcome that, however, by taking what made the first one good, and expanding upon that with new additions. However, there really is no way to ever achieve that point of "This is great" or the original WOW factor without actually having another one of those experiences from another game or genre of game. So inevitably, you'll think less of the sequels, to a certain extent. I like to think I'm not like that-- but I guess everyone has a bit of that in them. Oh, and another genre i am into is Fighting, along with Scrolling top-down shooters (Tyrian, Overkill, Galaga, Chicken Invaders I, II, III, possibly even IV!) Lastly, I really do like your cat's name... Mimi... It sounds stupid for a guy to say it, but I really think it's very cute. Can you BRAVE up to replying to this, BRAVE? (okay, that doesn't make sense, I just wanted to use your 2nd nick Brave somehow...) Poke Dat! (nose) STUVANI (Occasionally I add an I to the end of STUVAN. It's kind of like the extended version)

No the background doesn't annoy me, it's fine. Just that I noticed it's a bit hard for me to read text in white on that background because of it's tiling method, but it might be just me. What, do you think just because one's from Tibet, he shouldn't be able to speak English well? One can be from the Andromeda galaxy and still speak English well, if he's interested in our culture, some examples even seem to confirm that. |

Please to be excused, i do not want to insult no one, even the famous Mr. Calico but the suggestion for Tibet is not correct at all. So sorry. brave

Dear STUVAN(I), i grant You the exclusive right to use my second nick name brave without any obligations. Forever. Would You be so kind to use nick names yoga and brave when speak with me in small letters? I am dedicated follower of Yoga philosophy. Danke sehr. ... What?? You do not played DOOM2? But...but...this forum is not Flikr nor Facebook ... - This is the best Gaming forum! No, i will ask the forum management imm. to ban and reject every one who is not played DOOM 2 and Betrayer at Krondor. Excuse me, Caro Capo. Basta! We are game forum anyway.. Conc. photo activity: Sorry, i am humble person who are not member of any of social networks and i hate these networks. I am gamer. I do not want to loose my time to see what my friends like/dislike, what Big Mac eat, what island they visited and more shit. I like photos of nature only with no single two-legs monster who stupidly destroyed our planet. My favorite bluss singer John Mayall sings: ... "Nature"s disappearing. And we are guilty in this massive crime." Think i am green anarchist. Excuse me, You sounds little OK? Yr slave is from Bulgaria. If You know old Europe, nice, find Black Sea, then face West and You will see my small, sunny and lovely country.

How strange. It works for me. I don't know what could've gone wrong. Ooh, you wanted to send me a couple of suggestions via that thing... I see. Well, thanks anyhow for sharing on the Forum instead! As for people in Tibet not being able to speak English well, it's more of a probably *WOULDN'T*, not a really *SHOULDN'T*. I know absolutely no one (To my knowledge) from anywhere near there, so I don't actually know anything about them. My best guess is that in far-off countries, most people probably do not speak nor have any use for English, unless their home language is something that isn't really spoken elsewhere, which would mean it might be a good idea to. Case & Point: Romanian. Who speaks that outside of Romania? None that I know of. Of course it's an equally bad idea to NOT know Romanian if you live in Romania, since a lot of things there revolve around the language of Romanian. Anyway, in my mind, it's not very likely that *MOST* people from Tibet would know English, but I know absolutely *NOTHING* about the county, so I really can't say. I would also add that whenever someone speaks English from the "Andromeda" galaxy, it never really makes sense. Unless they have some explanation. If you're talking about StarGate or Andromeda or whatever, I can't say, since I haven't seen very much of either of those shows. Now to reply to Yoga (Bravo)

I will say that just because you're on a Social network doesn't mean that you have to spend countless hours wasting your time, that you could be doing better things with. I only have my family members on Facebook, except for 1 or 2 other people. I hardly ever log on. I just get on to see what other people have been posting, and post a little something myself. There are games on facebook, which will take up FOREVER if you get into those... yeah, avoid those. If there really aren't any family members for you to join on Facebook, then it really doesn't matter. Twitter can be a little more time absorbing. Flickr, IMHO, is more of a means of sharing your photography with the world rather than a "Social Network". It certainly has Social Network fuctions. In Flickr, you don't have to waste your time to see what other friends have posted. You don't even have to add friends. You can just upload, and Flickr by default gives you some really nice recommendations for people to follow which are some really nice photographers. (Yes, some of them might be nature photos) Anyway, social networks appear to be just a big time waste to you. I don't agree with that, because they can be a fun way to share your thoughts and creations with the world, but what you say goes for you. We can talk about something else now. May I inquire what you where talking about when you said "Excuse me, but you sounds little okay?" So I take it you live in Bulgaria? Cool. I had another internet friend who lived in Romainia.. From the photo of him in Romainia I saw I take it such a neiboring country might be a grassy, green, beautiful place? Okay, so I haven't played DOOM 2. or 3. Big deal! It sounds like your real aggravation will be to hear that I, indeed, have not played "Betrayal At Krondor". Even more annoying to you, it seems, would be the fact that I had a chance to buy that game this past week... and I chose Breach 3. Now I'm DOUBLE BANNED! Okay, YOGABRIV.(E) (Pronounced: Yoga- Briv- E) I don't suppose by "No obligations" you mean that I can "Horribly Mutilate and Tangle" your two names together, do you? Well, I just did, let's hope for the best How about Yog'Brough? Hehe... Lastly, if you feel compelled to reply on the social networks matter, just remember to not get too hyped up because I simply do not agree with part of what you are saying about them. And that's fine. Some people don't like them. That's you. You don't need to change my view, and I highly doubt that you will be able to. Just as I am highly unable to change your view. It's best if we keep that conversation docile and more about sharing what we think rather than slapping the other person around until they change Poke Dat! STUVAN =_= (The way I ended my letters a while back) P.S. LOL you used "Mr. Calico"'s name! Have you been on my Flickr again?
