Jean-Philippe Toussaint - "Bathroom". A story about a man who decides to live in the bathroom. I like the way the book and its atmoshpere is so light, but yet you can read so much between the lines. Recommended.

Well, just because a book is widely popular doesn't mean it's automatically a bad book. Dan Brown's books are bad.
Well I have only read The Da Vinci Code, but it wasn't a bad book, but also I don't really see anything exceptionally brillaint about it, or why it is one of the greatest books ever written as it is claimed by many.

Anyway I heard they are going to make a movie of it with Tom Hanks playing Langdon, and if thats true the movie is sure to suck. In my opinion.

Also does this Angels and Demons book come before or after Da Vinci Code?

The most touching book I read recently. I would have to say that when I reread Desolation Angel this week I cried a few tears.

Hmm, since I was/am English and German major, I had to read quite a lot of books - I think every book has something special, it touches me, just the connotation is different - some are stupid, some are boring, some are fun

But I do know that my all time favourite book since my childhood is Eric Kästner - Die Zwillinge or transelted The twins - you all probably know the story since it was adopted for various movies so many times....

My most touching top 3 of all times that I can currently think of:

1. H. Hesse: "Narziß und Goldmund"
2. F. Bordewijk: "Karakter"
3. V.S. Naipaul: "A house for Mr. Biswas"

I also like SF/Fantasy a lot, and Peter F. Hamiltons "Nights Dawn"-trilogie, Robert Jordan "Wheel of time" n-logie are very nice...

Desolation Angels is also a good Kerouac book.. I can relate to his feeling when he decented from Desolation Peak and realized that city life wasn't after all what he really wanted.

Nah, check here.

Angels and Demons was published in 2000 while The Da Vinci Code was published in 2003.

Personally I enjoyed Angels and Demons more - it was much more fast-paced.

Also you can check out Dan Brown's official web site.

Well at least it's been cleared up. I'm not that interested in checking his website. But thanks for the thought.

I'm going to start Fox Evil by Minette Walters tonight. Anyone know if it's any good. I just found it in my library, sounds alright. But haven't heard anything about it.
