Well this is the opposite but ******s used to mean a bundle of twigs, sticks, or branches bound together.

Some people are thus a bit confused when, at one point in the Lord of the Rings book, Aragon or Gandalf tells the others to throw some more ******s on the fire

To stay on topic.. I don't remember any words in english, but in icelandic, there is the old adjective "argur" (this is male form, singular).
It used to mean "homosexual", around the year 950, but now it means "irritated" :bleh:

Fagot=Bassoon (oh how I love bassoon) I can only assume it is because originally a fagot was a small piece of wood that was used as kindling to burn homosexuals and witches and the like at the stake. I guess fagot just kind of stuck for wood.

LOL LOL
These are funny. A lot with gay and homosexual

Oh I've got one. Gangsters used to be organized crime cronies and now it has evolved to gangsta which is like a compliment usually with black people.

Well I'm not sure if it's true (couldn't checki it out), but I remember reading that this is actaully how the word came to be.

F - fructification
U - under
C - the consent
K - of the king

So it's an accronim. It was supposed to be writen on signs (like do not desturb) on the royal coart, because the nobility that lived there was not alowed to have an intercourse (unless the king gavew them the k: ). So if they did it without the king's k: they'd get arrested. The ones who had the royal seal of aproval also got a sign saying something like I stated before - and later on it was all shortened to the first letters only - F-U-C-K.

Well I doubt it's true, I never did check for the authentity - but it's fun anyway.

Oh and I hope you all know that GAY basically means a JOYFUL, HAPPY person.
