![]() This game is cool. I recall playing this on the Genesis as a kid and had a blast with it. It appears that this PC version is nearly identical to the Genesis version - aside from the transparent border menu on the top in the Genesis version. And perhaps its due to DosBox, but the PC version is not quite as smooth and the resolution seems a bit off. I was successful in getting the music and sound to work with the PC in DosBox...which is a rarity. It is a bit tougher on the PC though...especially playing on the keyboard. When playing with a PC joystick, or rather a control pad, only 2 buttons actually work...therefore with the controller you can only jump and attack with the sword, but will have to hit the space bar to switch to apple throwing mode. A bit of a pain but....oh well.
Now, the SNES version is far superior. The game follows the same side scrolling platform format, but it features more colorful graphics, parallax scrolling background, the little monkey Abu guy runs along with you, certain objects you can grab on to that'll make you flip around, scenery objects are more interactive such as bouncing off on pots and stuff, and not to mention better music and sound. You guys should give it a try when you get the chance. |
