Well here where I live, we've essentially got 3 school systems, public, catholic, and private

Public teaches about evolution and such, really don't here anything about religion, many of the points Sly mentioned on Public school, applies here as well.

Really have no clue on the Catholic system and the teachings especially in science so I can't really comment, although I imagine religion probably plays a role.

3) Evolution is a religion.
WHAT? It is a scientific theory. There is a major difference! Look up the great thread by whizzlesomething (can't remember the name, sorry...).

I mean when a doctor is performing surgery, is he thinking about where the thing came from. No.
Well, after the surgery, the doctor might wanna give the patient a prescripton of an antibiotic. Now, the doctor better be aware of the problem that this can cause bacteria to evolve and become resistant to antibiotics, thus greatly increasing the problem of infections. Evolution is not only important to explain the past, but also for the future. Without being able to explain the past, how do you choose actions for the future??

He's got a point there, we are all talking about evolution as if it is something that happened in the past but it is still going on around us. The issue of bacteria evolving resistance to antibiotics is a current example of this.

Evolution is religion. You get prophets(darwin....) you have "holy" places where all that believe in it assamble(biological classes) you try to convert as much infindels as possible. You dont have any proof.(and if you say that you exist is proof enought,it is proof for YOU,for catholic it is proof of god)
Popular scientific theories and religion have really much in common...

Relics don't have anything to do with creationism, Fossils, however, do clearly show ancient animals evolving into the more complex animals we have today.

Evolution is in no way a Religion. Religions deal with Gods or spirits of some sort, while Evolution is all about facts.
