DreadWing, thank you very much. Following your recommendations I finally finished this game.

While graphically better than its predecessor, I must confess that I found this one a bit too hard! Puzzles, traps, normal fighters and time switches, I can master, but my main problem was trying to fight those bloody heads! They don't even play fair! I get often killed by one of them, even when I have used the extra health cheat to gain the max 12 bottles!
In the end, this morning, I just jumped to the last level so that I could fight Jaffar and see the ending.
To be brutaly honest, I don't like picking my path through interminable mazes, when everytime you get killed you get sent all the way back to the start - especially when the cause is some ghostly head or super-poisonous snake. I want to get to grips with the enemy!

BTW, the Jaffar cackle sounds vaguely familiar. Does anyone else agree that it reminds them of the Headless Horseman in Disney's Legend of Sleepy Hollow?
Along those lines, how can a ghost laugh like that when he doesn't have a head? :blink:

Like another user in this thread, I found that the game crashes on the second level (where you wake up on the island) when using VDM ... Has anyone found away around this? Please help if you have!

Never mind - I got it working with dosbox and now it runs fine.

Prince of Persia 1 was really really tough and the problem of it is the time limit combined with trial and error. I never played Prince of Persia 2 much because, while the setting was prettier, it seemed quite damn hard and the enemies were often frustrating. It's a good game though, but it seems nearly a must to use the cheats. Or maybe we're just used to having quicksave/quickload these days
