Doesn't seem to be working. Downloaded all 4.06Mb, which does seem a bit small, and I unzipped it. Clicked on the exe and got a message saying press any key for space hulk or some such thing. Pressed a key and the screen went blan and then nothing...

Actually, all First Companies of the Space Marines wear Terminator armour as standard eq (being the company elite and all). If you played the tabletop game though, you'd be surprised why Genestealers can punch through Termie armour like cardboard, because it's the toughest in the entire game.

Space Hulk does not work under MS Windows. Try DosBox, works fine there.

Actually, not all Space Marine Chapters have enough TDA suits to equip their whole First Company with it. Dark Angels do.

Ah, W40K, I thought the creature designs looked familier. Genestealers.

Aye. Check the Troubleshooting section stickies about DosBox. It works for Space Hulk as well.

Yes. The very same.

PS. In case any of you are interested, there is a bunch of guys who are making a Space Hulk mod for most recent 40k strategy game, Dawn of War.

In the manual it tells me that I can choose my squad and weapons, but the briefing guy always tells me that"my squad has been carefully selected" or that "the emporer has dictated my squad's weaponry". I'm only on "Purge". Do I need to get farther into the game?

You can select your squad and its armament only on certain levels. Far into the actual game.

Don't get a lot of PCtime lately but browsing abandonware Ring and ended up here.
First contact with Warhammer 40k universe was PSX version of this and I LOVED IT!!!
HARD HARD HARD
Always ran out of tactical time
Squadmates not able to cover SHORT accessways effectively

LOVED IT
I spent more stressed out nights trying to figure out strategic placement of squads on that verion than I care to remember.

(Only wish the first person controls and action had been crisper. Once you got the hang of the block-parry-smash the aliens were pretty easy to kill)

But overall loved it

I'm returning to this PC version to give it a second try

My initial exposure to it following my PSX experience was dissappointing but we'll see
Thxs for letting me blah blah blah
