70% of emails are spam? seems a bit of an overestimate - the only spam i get is in my hotmail accounts FROM Hotmail, because you can't block them

although I bet most AOL users get about 90% spam due to their ignorance of what to do about it.

Around 60% is what my spam filter bloks now in my company. This does not include emails that are block with black lists of online relay DB.

But this news is really good news.

Computers are supposed to be challenging and intimidating to use. That's why I am thankful for spyware and viruses. They make using a computer a nightmare, which only hardcore geeks could handle.

Huh? No they're not, they're supposed to be tools to make our lives easier, although they certainly do bring their own problems and challenges, but deliberately adding to those is a rather unpleasant thing to do.

Yes, it is unpleasant for the guy who is searching for porn on the net.

...and for the guy trying to get reserach done for his college essays
...and for the CEO who is trying to get an important message out to all of his employees
...and for the mother at home who is trying to get new recipes
...and for the gamers like YOU who are on forums and enjoy playing mind numbing games

Just because you spend most of your time drooling over porn doesn't mean everyone else does.

I'm not sure, but I think he was saying "if you're stupid enough to get adware by browsing for porn then you deserve it" which I'd disagree with anyway, but IS less upsetting than someone getting it by "normal" use (although since porn is the single most common use of the 'net - assuming that's measurable - it could probably be called "normal use" itself).
