STOP right there! :not_ok:

I WILL NOT have this thread turn into a flame or insult thread.

Terry Schiavo had nothing left to live. Quality of Life is all that matters. If you are a vegetable who can't think, you are no more a human than a plant is.

Myslef I thinl Terry Shiaco is already dead...The only thing that machines keep alive(or better said functional) is dead body...
I really dont understand why there is so a fuss around it.If I so ended(I dont know, after a car accident for example) I really would appreciate if they "let me go"

That's why they reckon there's going to be lots of people making "living wills" (crap term) in order to avoid this happening to them. it's taken several YEARS of agony for her husband to get to this point. I hope my friends and relatives are well aware of the fact that I wouldn't want to be kept alive with no hope of recovery and no quality of life.

Um, she is actually dead in both senses now :P
Not up to date, eh Lizard?

Anyway, many people say that it is a complete shame to let Terry die, and also that it is a breach of Christian values.

Ah, but the american midwest interpretation of "Christian values" differs greatly from "Love thy neighbour" IMO.

Yes, it seems that way sometimes. I was actually recently talking to my mother about Religion. She was once Bahai and shared many thought with me.

Her major beef with actually fully switching to Bahai was that she couldn't handle switching 'guys' to worship. I mean, she didn't even care about the 'guy', but it was too different.

What about the principle of Euthanasia? I firmly believe that it is a good thing. If the person wants to die, then let them.

There was a bill coming through parliament that was needed for this whole Euthanasia debate (but now isn't due to the election) it was "living wills". It let you write down what they want them to do to you if you ever slip into a coma or suffer serious brain damage, could say that you want to die BUT you could also tell them to use everything they've got to keep you alive as love as possible.
