Well, first that depends on what you mean by "God". The "god" that would need to use evolution is cruel, wasteful, stupid and deceitful and is not the God of the Bible. It is not in the character of God to use misfits, blind chance, and death as a creative process. My God gets it right, first time. He doesn't have to practice. "His work is perfect" Deut. 32:4 To say God used the Big Bang/Evolution (or the "Gap" theory between Genesis 1:1-2)....calls God a liar... 1) It violates Genesis 1:5; 2:2-3, Exodus 20:11; Hebrews 4:4 2) Put death before Adam's sin. Violates Romans 5:12; I Corinthians 15:21; This would also nullify the need for the death of Christ. 3) Has Lucifer fall before day 7. Violates Gen 1:31, 2:8; Ezekiel 28:12-15 When did Lucifer fall you ask? Well let's follow this logically and biblically... 1)Everything was created in six days (Ex. 20:11) 2)Lucifer was created (Ez. 28:13,14) 3)Lucifer was in Eden and was perfect until iniquity was found in him (Ez. 28:14) 4)Eden was made on day 6 (Gen. 2:8) It's not logical to say Lucifer fell before the creation because the Garden of Eden hadn't been made yet. 5)Since angels were created to be "ministering spirits" for man (Heb. 1:14, Matt 18:10) why would God create them millions of years before man? 6) The "Sons of God" (which are angels and this would include Lucifer) rejoiced when the foundations of the earth were laid. (Job 38:1-4) 7)The foundations were laid on day 3 (Gen 1:9) So the angels were created on either day 1 or day 2. 8)Everything was very good at the end of day 6 (Gen. 1:31) Everything would not be very good if Lucifer's running around as a bad guy already. 9)Adam was 130 when Seth was born (Gen. 5:3) Lucifer fell after the creation but at some point before Seth was born. On a separate note... To whomever pointed out that the days of creation are supposedly long periods of time, by quoting Psalms 90:4 and/or II Peter 3:8. Notice that both of them say thousand not million, and neither one of those verses are talking about the creation. They're talking about the fact that time doesn't mean anything to God. (i.e. This is not year 2005 in heaven. There is no time there. Remember, God is outside of time, space and matter) Gen. 1:13,16- The plants were created on the 3rd day, and the Sun was created on the 4th day. If those days are millions of years apart, then those plants are going to have a tough time staying alive until the Sun shows up, don't you think? The insects were created on day 5 (Gen 1:20) and they pollinate the plants. If those days are long periods of time, we've got a real problem here. If its just one day there's no problem at all, but if it's long periods of time we've got a real serious problem. If the days are long periods of time, then how long was Jesus in the grave? Well 3 days and 3 nights. Oh, you mean 3 million years? No, 3 days. Well how do you know it's days there and not in Genesis? Ex. 20:11 puts all 7 days as being the same. Scores of other scriptures indicate a 6 day creation. Some would say, there is no closure (evening and morning) to day 7 so it could be millions of years. Well it is very literally a 24 hr day. Many scriptures refer to "the seventh day". The seventh day is symbolic of God's rest, but it was a literal day in Gen 1. Were the Jews to work 6 days then take the rest of their life off? Does the bible match evolution? They are opposite in every respect. Bible- Earth before the sun; Evolution- Sun before the Earth Bible- Oceans before land; Evolution- Land before oceans Bible- Light before the sun; Evolution- Sun before light Bible- Land plants first; Evolution- marine life first Bible- Fruit trees before fish; Evolution- Fish before fruit trees Bible- Fish before insects; Evolution- Insects before fish Bible- Marine before land mammals; Evolution- Land mammals before marine Bible- Birds before reptiles; Evolution- Reptiles before birds Bible- Atmosphere between two layers of water; Evolution- Atmosphere above water Bible- Earth before sun and stars; Evolution- Sun and stars before the earth Bible- man brought death into the world; Evolution- death brought man into the world Someone is clearly wrong. Evolution and the Big Bang clearly refute Creationist thought. They are not compatible. |
