I've been checking out both sites for years, although over the past year I've stopped visiting HOTU altogether. They're both good, but I favour Abandonia because for some reason it was always like a breath of fresh air when I came to check out the main page here and do the occasional search. Abandonia has got really great games and reviews, and the layout of the games pages and the way they're each connected to their own forum thread is really diligent and useful. HOTU seemed a bit cold and distant, perhaps because in my dial-up days the HOTU pop-up ads and slow server were a bit time-consuming.

 HOTU is still a great site, but unfortunatly it seems a frozen one...

Ohhhh! You have revived the thread where I first posted after joining Abandonia.
 Anyway, I consider HOTU a great site with tons of games, but lately when I have visited it some very annoying pop-ups have appeared. Even one that tries to install something in my computer and blocks everything else. And I use a quite effective firewall, so for now I won't visit it anymore.

1 big point to abandonia is the translations in 15 diferents languages! is a site for all people from the wold!

I actually caught a virus on Hotu. It interferes with virus protection like AVG and Norton. When you run a virus scan it slows it down or it stops completely. Thats why when i go to their site I download onto a flash drive. and virus scan it. If the virus scan stops before its complete I found a way to circumvent the virus. I just unzip the file on my flash drive and after I unzipped them all i get rid of the zipped files and keep the unzipped ones and I ddon't get the virus.
